My name is Lennox (which you probably know because it’s only everywhere on my website). I’m a Lighting Designer based in New York City.
I received my BFA in Technical Theatre & Stage Management from the Conservatory of the Arts at Stephens College. While there, I discovered my love for all things lighting: the challenges, the subtlety, and the fun. While getting my degree I light designed three mainstage productions and two productions at our student run theatre including 9 to 5: The Musical, Our Town, and Side by Side by Sondheim.
As part of my degree, I spent two summers at Stephen’s very own professional summer stock, the Okoboji Summer Theatre. There, I spent time in the scene shop, costume shop, working changeovers, filling crew positions backstage, and during my second summer light designed An Inspector Calls and Purely Patsy Cline.
After graduating I spent a year with Virgin Voyages sailing the seas as part of their entertainment department before finally making the big move to New York City.
I recently returned to the Okoboji Summer Theatre as their Lighting Supervisor & Facilities Manager for the season as well as light designing The Mousetrap and Barefoot in the Park
As an artist, my favorite part of my work and this industry is the collaboration. I love working within a team where we all bring our ideas, experiences, and visions together to create something spectacular.
Outside of theatre, I am always adding books to my never ending to be read list, drawing on my iPad, or snuggling up to binge my latest favorite show. Lately, i’ve been taking my camera out to explore and get to know the city as I love photography and taking little snapshots of my day when I can.
